Hi, I'm new to your forums, would appreciate some help. I'm looking for information on Walter Day born Mussellburgh 1873, the son of club maker Walter Dunn Day. Walter junior was the 1st golf professional in South Africa. He went to Royal Cape in 1893, later moving to Kimberley. He travelled home to Scotland several times in the next ten years, finally returning to Scotland in 1908 where died shortly afterwards, leaving a widow and family, For this information I am relying on a History of Kimberley Gol Club. He is shown on the 1881 census living in Mussellburgh with his parents. By 1891 all the Days had moved, most to Northern Ireland where his brothers Alexander and Christopher were golf professionals too.
I don't know who Walter married or when, or where. I can find no reference to his marriage, his family or his death in Scottish or Irish records. I am hoping someone may be able to help
